Victorian silver plated bowl by Hukin & Heath, Aesthetic Movement, naturalistic
VICTORIAN SILVER PLATED SHELL DISH BY HUKIN & HEATH. A beautiful Aesthetic Movement silver plated dish or fruit bowl in a naturalistic leaf design, with repoussé veins, fluted edge, flower detail and three scrolled twig legs each with a delicate leaf. Marked on the underside with the makers stamp H & H and their bird logo. It also has a registered design number of 188700 for the year 1892. I have also seen a toast rack in the same design. A beautiful quality item, this would look stunning gracing any dining table or sideboard. Hukin & Heath were established in Birmingham in 1855 by Jonathan Wilson Hukin and John Thomas Heath, and became associated with Dr Christopher Dresser in 1877 who designed for them. Height: 8.5 cm (3).
Weight: 465 g - 1.02 lb. Condition: Very good, very sight rubbing to plate on raised parts, but hardly noticeable.
