Fitted Box : 53cm 53cm x 39.5cm weight 30kg. The two perfume / salts bottle stopper TOPS both have chips out of them. One bottle rim top has nibbling where the stopper has jiggled around when travelling.There are a couple of small dings on the pitcher, and a ding / two in the bowl bottom. With cleaning / usage / swirl wear marks to the bowl botton in keeping with normal usage. The silver plate is generally good on the pitcher and wash bowl, however there is some brass. Show through due to cleaning and polishing on the smaller items as you'd expect of an old antique item. The circular top right lid is alone Pin Dish? Unsure if there was a glass container originally absent? The box side (lefthand side) has the leather loose as is part of the top edges (needs regluing), the case.
Leather is well scuffed and marked especially on the edges corners, (doesn't show up well in images). Has plenty of indents / dings / scratches completely as you'd expect of a old antique item hat travelled. The box interior is lined in silk and is generally good, however there is some fraying, staining, and color.Loss but still looks good, also comes with it's original protector cushion which sits loose on top before closed. The beautiful set has been hand engraved with initials and was a wedding gift according to the brass plaque on the. Box top lid, From what we know this beautiful gift was from a Eulogio Girault, a friend of the couple, he was a wealthy South American financier / investor and Banker living in Madrid, you would need to be because this high quality hand engraved fitted cased / box set would have cost without doubt an absolute small fortune in the late 19th century.
