A good example of the genre this beautifully grained footed ceramic lined oak bowl sports a silver plated mount to the rim and a vacant shield cartouche to the front, a mount to the foot and a stylish pair of handles complete. This delightful bowl was made by Daniel and Arter of Birmingham. We estimate its age to be late Victorian. The liner lifts out for ease of cleaning.
In good general condition, there are two very stable shakes between panels and some small service wear to the silver plated parts which is unobtrusive and decidedly less than the norm for a piece of this type. There is a little patination built up in places but the overall effect is gleaming. The ceramic bowl is good without chip, crack or restoration but there is a little light crazing and some associated staining to the surface of the inner.Displays beautifully, a good Victorian antique piece.
